Project Builder & Co-Presenter with Guidance
Maker Faire Bay Area | 2016
THE CHALLENGE:
Built and presented an Arduino-controlled water-spraying demonstration that used proximity sensing and relay control to connect a sensor input with a physical response.
The project needed to detect someone nearby and activate a water-spraying mechanism. It also served as a teaching example for explaining sensor inputs, program decisions, and output control to beginning makers.
THE SOLUTION:
I built the interactive water-gun project with guidance from my dad and presented it during my third Maker Faire Electronics Stage appearance. An Arduino processed a proximity-sensor input and used a relay module to control the spraying mechanism.
The presentation explained digital inputs and outputs, sensor trigger and echo signals, and the use of a separate power supply for the controlled device. The original slides also introduced the Arduino programming environment, a parts list, and wiring examples to help attendees understand the system.
